Teddies Street Photography

A lesson in how not to do street photography came out of a project I was asked to complete for a photo club run by Andy Newson. When you have been agoraphobic for many years and have to avoid public spaces with actual people, street photography is a genre generally to be avoided. However, I accepted the challenge and went rogue (In the nicest possible way). I decided I would venture out at night or very early in the morning. My subjects wouldn’t be people but teddy bears. Certainly, more biddable. My models came from charity shops and council tips along with a few of my own old faithfulls. I needed different coloured bears so some underwent tea and coffee baths to provide colour variety. I have to admit I did have to pin them in place with strategically placed supports.
