Stones & Rocks

The sea and oceans have landscapes all of their own, and it is often only when the tides retreat that they offer glimpses of their hidden treasures. Taking advantage of these limited opportunities to explore, discover and capture images the tides help form has been challenging.

I travelled hundreds of miles and visited numerous beaches in different counties. I studied tidal timetables, climbed steep banks and precariously negotiated my way over rock and through pools.

I feel my endeavours have been rewarded. The images show shapes, colours, textures and terrains pleasing to my eye, whilst offering no sense of scale. I am also delighted at some of the additional images within images as I now see faces, monsters, even a pigeon.
